Treating Pain with CBD
A parent survey published in the journal Epilepsy & Behavior in 2013 found that CBD-enriched cannabis was effective in reducing pain and improving sleep in a group of pediatric patients with treatment-resistant epilepsy.
An article published in the journal O’Shaughnessy’s in 2014 reviewed the use of CBD-rich hemp oil for the treatment of chronic pain. The authors of the article concluded that CBD is effective for reducing chronic pain.
A review published in the journal Current Neuropharmacology in 2018 discussed the potential of the endocannabinoid system as a target for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain. The authors of the review noted that CBD may have anti-inflammatory effects and may be effective in reducing pain in individuals with osteoarthritis.
Overall, these studies suggest that CBD has great potential as a pain-relieving agent.
