Better sleep for improved physical health
The following resources prove that having a healthy sleeping schedule does in fact improve your physical health.
“The role of sleep duration in the development of obesity.” This review, published in the journal Obesity Reviews, discusses how short sleep duration is a risk factor for obesity, and how interventions that increase sleep duration may be effective in preventing weight gain.
“The effect of sleep duration on blood pressure: A systematic review and meta-analysis.” This meta-analysis, published in the journal Sleep Medicine Reviews, analyzed the results of multiple studies and found that shorter sleep duration is associated with higher blood pressure.
“The role of sleep in immune function.” This review, published in the journal Sleep Medicine Reviews, discusses the relationship between sleep and the immune system, and how sleep deprivation can impair immune function.
